CSA Young Surgeons Committee Webinar

The Central Surgical Association's Young Surgeon Committee presented a complimentary webinar titled "Current Controversies in Surgery and the Wisdom of Our Elders" on Thursday, January 14, 2021. A Part II webinar is being planned and will take place on May 6, 2021.

This virtual session was an exciting opportunity for members to actively discuss hot surgical topics with past CSA presidents and peers in a small group setting, to look beyond COVID and into the future of surgery. Important topics included surgical education, telemedicine, robotics, and more.

Participants were given an initial opinion on a controversial topic in surgery using the polling function on Zoom. Breakout sessions with group discussion were then held with former presidents of the CSA. After discussion, the breakout groups presented their opinion to the entire group and a new poll was performed to see if opinions changed after discussion.
