As winter turns into spring, I have great hope and optimism for what lies ahead. Never could any of us have imagined that we would be under the effects of a global pandemic for over one year now. However, thanks to the incredible and heroic efforts of the biomedical research community, we have multiple vaccines available to fight COVID and that are being rolled out at an ever quickening pace. While it is not quite time yet to let our guard down, there is reason to anticipate a return to more normal activities, including resumption of in-person society scientific meetings, in the coming months. I suspect that the blossoming spring flowers, rising number of vaccinations and improving outlook for the pandemic have all set an optimistic outlook for all of the CSA members as we look towards the future. We are all hopeful for an in-person meeting in July that will reunite the CSA and MSA members for a great academic and social event in Chicago, IL. More

As all Central Surgical Association members know, our 2020 Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, WI was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. With vaccine distributions gaining momentum, COVID case numbers are falling in many areas, as well as regional relaxing of pandemic-related restrictions. Plans are underway for the Central Surgical Association & Midwest Surgical Association Combined 2021 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, at the Westin Chicago River North from July 25-27, 2021. More

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force has been hard at work to better understand and serve the needs of all members of the Association. One of the goals of the Task Force is to understand the demographics of our membership and is asking for your help in two ways;
  1. Update your CSA Membership profile; and
  2. Answer the anonymous demographic climate survey.

Both updates will provide more granularity on these issues. While many members have responded, those who havenít are encouraged to take the time now to update their member profiles and also respond to the anonymous survey. More
